The too-brief span wherein the human chassis is factory-fresh, undented and free of corrosion; a pristine condition worshipped by menopausal women in sweatsuits and shrinking men with chestnut-brown toupees, while those who actually possess it are frequently too shallow or despondent to appreciate it. |
Yuppie
A young and fluid creature, generally wanting in identity, that succeeds by studiously mimicking the members of its species that have already succeeded. Locally abundant in the fashionable districts of most cities, where it commonly travels about in small self-regarding packs; prime specimens may be viewed at the trendiest restaurants, dining happily on esoteric pastas accompanied by sun-dried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. |
