Culture
The visible evidence of a tribe of bacteria, as observed by microbiologists or cynics.
Culture Shock
A form of stress precipitated by sudden exposure to strange new manners and mores; a temporary befuddlement experienced by Britons when they travel abroad, and even more so when they return home.
Cyberpunk
The futuristic bandit of the information highway: a black-hatted gunslinger with a microchip on his shoulder and a modem in his holster. A high-tech juvenile delinquent who lives for the joy of raiding establishment data bases, and whose emerging subculture combines the warmth of computer technology with the lyricism of punk rock.
Cynic
An idealist whose rose-coloured glasses have been removed, snapped in two and stomped into the ground, immediately improving his vision.
