VITAMIN D, TOO LITTLE
Don't worry (well, yes, worry), there's more. Taking too little vitamin D can increase the risk of breast cancer. |
VITAMIN D, TOO MUCH
But don't push it: vitamin D builds up in the body and, if taken in overdoses over long periods, can lead to bone or muscle pain, constipation, diarrhea, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, and more severe conditions including birth defects, high blood pressure, and death. |
VITAMIN E, TOO LITTLE
Isn't this fun? Taking too little vitamin E can increase the risk of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, strokes, reduced cognitive function, and (when the vitamin would be taken in the form of gamma-tocopherols, whatever they may be) prostate cancer. |
VITAMIN E, TOO MUCH
Taking too much vitamin E can cause hemorrhaging or strokes. There's only one solution: put all your vitamins into one big bowl, take a handful at random whenever it occurs to you, and see what happens. |
VITAMINS
Older people who take multivitamin supplements may get less benefit from influenza shots. Weren't the darn things supposed to be good for us? |
