It looks like fractures are habit-forming: women who break bones between the ages of twenty and fifty are more likely to suffer broken bones after menopause. |

On the other hand, postmenopausal women who haven't had fractures are more likely to get breast and endometrial cancers. It's never too late to get into the habit you could always get a helpful friend to start you off by breaking a couple of your fingers. |

Remember how we told you taking the bus was more environmentally sound than traveling by plane? We lied. Diesel fumes from buses contain more than forty substances considered to be hazardous air pollutants, contributing to asthma, lung cancer, and global warming. |
BYPASS SURGERY
Of people who undergo heart bypass surgery, 2 to 5 percent suffer strokes, and more than 40 percent show a significant decline on tests of mental ability five years later. On the other hand, not having the surgery isn't going to improve your mental ability either. |
